Decorate the room or space with small and familiar holiday items like family photos, ornaments, or even a favourite blanket. These can make the environment feel more like home and reduce stress.

Spend time together looking through photo albums or making a small craft (like a card). These low-stress activities can be both joyful and comforting.

Playing gentle holiday music or using a familiar scent, like lavender, can evoke comforting memories. Choose soft, calming elements that your loved one enjoys.

Celebrate the special day by bringing in some favourite food and drink.

Visits can be the highlight of the day. Aim for shorter, low-key interactions to avoid the time being overwhelming.
