The policy framework National Plan to Respond to the Abuse of Older Australians 2019-2023 was designed on the basis of a 2017 Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) recommendation.

Now, an evaluation led by the Australian Institute of Family Studies has found the four-year plan is meeting a range of aims, successfully uniting governments, agencies and organisations in tackling the abuse of older people.
