New strategy to end elder abuse released

The Tasmanian Premier released Tasmania’s third strategy addressing the abuse of older Tasmanians called Lifelong Respect: Tasmania’s Strategy to end the abuse of older people (Elder Abuse) 2023-2029.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff released the strategy along with Minister for Community Services and Development, Nic Street, to mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, 15 June, 2023.

This strategy, which was developed in consultation with the Statewide Elder Abuse Prevention Committee (SEAPAC) and stakeholders, will provide the foundation for the Government’s ongoing commitment to older Tasmanians’ right to be safe, respected, and live with dignity.
