Seniors' podcast aims to ease loneliness in aged care

"Can you eat it, like peas in a pod?" When a group of seniors first heard of a podcast, they thought it was a type of vegetable.

But now, they're the stars of their own Extraordinary Ordinaries series, sharing their stories in a project aimed at combating loneliness in aged care homes.

At 77 years old, Rosemarie Morgan had never set foot in a recording studio.

Ms Morgan has spent the past five years living in residential aged care at Bolton Clarke in Townsville, one of nine north Queensland facilities involved in the project.

The volunteer-run program is an initiative under Community Gro and the federal government's Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme.
