The Competition offers budding scribes three different categories to choose from: Primary School students, Secondary School students, and Open Age. Each story should include up to 250 words for Primary School students, 500 words for Secondary School students and 1 000 words in the Open Age category.
There is no limit to creative expression and entries could be in the form of a short story, poem, letter or other. They may focus on a shared funny moment, the best tall tale ever, a life-changing piece of advice, a letter written, a memory recalled or simply a written celebration. The competition closes on this year’s Grandparents Day, Sunday 29 October 2023. Winning entries will be published to the Grandparents Day website and in the print and digital edition of Seniors Voice, the only community newspaper specifically for seniors in the Territory.
NT Grandparents Day is supported by the Northern Territory Government. The aim of the day is to celebrate Grandparents and older kin and to acknowledge the important contribution made by grandparents to family, community, and country. Events will be listed on the Grandparents Day and COTA NT websites.
