This report provides the findings of the Banking Code Compliance Committee (BCCC) inquiry into the practices of six banks in managing the estates of deceased customers.
Consistent with information from Code breaches, the BCCC inquiry found many deceased estates were being mismanaged. The report contains some of those examples, along with examples from banks of good practices and performance.
