On June 15, Seniors Rights Service hosted Stronger Futures webinar that discussed strategies that work to help prevent abuse of older Australians. During the event, Acting Minister for Seniors, Hon Geoff Lee MP, launched the Seniors Rights Service Strategic Plan 2020-2024 – a blueprint for our work over the next four years. CEO Russell Westacott highlighted the key features of the new strategy, including emphases on working with people from diverse backgrounds and communities, working in partnership with other organisations across NSW and working in rural, regional and remote areas of NSW.
As awareness of abuse becomes more widespread, this conversation turns to what is next and what works in the prevention of, and response to, abuse of older Australians. During our special #WEEAD webinar, our expert panellists hosted a discussion around various perspectives on strategies, planning and tools for preventing elder abuse.
