Community Migrant Resource Centre

Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC) is a not-for-profit charity organisation that offers community-led programs for vulnerable individuals and communities.

We provide practical help and support in humanitarian settlement, humanitarian youth, accommodation information and referral services, and asylum seeker and humanitarian entrant assistance.

CMRC's mission is to assist disadvantaged, vulnerable, and marginalised people by providing services and support that facilitate acceptance and inclusiveness, develop individual, family and community resilience, and build enduring relationships.

CMRC has helped over 7000 clients in the past year with a number of programs to alleviate poverty such as gas and electricity vouchers, food vouchers and Food Bank referrals, referrals to community housing, and affordable accommodation

CMRC actively pursued its charitable purpose by delivery of poverty alleviation programs such as:

  • energy utility vouchers

  • Telstra vouchers

  • donation of new and recycled clothes

  • nappies and baby needs products to new mothers

Through our community development framework, CMRC is committed to combating social exclusion, poverty, disadvantage, and discrimination.

We aim to strengthen the capacity of people as active citizens through their community groups, organisations, and networks; and the capacity of local agencies to work in dialogue with clients to shape and determine change in their communities.
