Provides peer-driven support services for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, intersex, queer and asexual (LGBTQIA+) people, their families, allies and communities.
Switchboard Victoria is a community based not for profit organisation that provides a peer driven, support service for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, intersex, queer, asexual (LGBTIQA+) communities and their allies, friends, support workers and families.
Our services include:
Rainbow Door – Rainbow Door is a free specialist LGBTIQA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Gender Diverse, Intersex, Queer, Asexual, BrotherBoys, SisterGirls) help-line providing Information, support, and referral to all LGBTIQA+ Victorians, their friends and family during and after COVID 19.
Out and About Programme – Switchboard runs Out & About, a social home visiting service for LGBTIQA+ Victorians at risk of social isolation. This free service is coordinated in part-nership with the National Community Visitors Scheme and is funded through the Com-monwealth Department of Health.
Peer to Peer Counselling (QLIFE) – Switchboard is the Victorian partner in the national tele-phone and web counselling, information and referral service QLife. This free peer based service is for LGBTIQA+ identifying people and those who have questions or concerns about LGBTIQA+ issues. This includes families, friends, teachers and coworkers of LGBTIQA+ peo-ple. This service is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health.
Suicide Prevention – Switchboard is passionately involved in providing dedicated LGBTIQA+ peer-led suicide prevention programs, services and initiatives across Australia. We are the national leading organisation providing suicide prevention, intervention and postvention programs to LGBTIQA+ people with a strong emphasis on building community resilience through peer-led and lived experience activities.
Anti Racism – Switchboard runs a QTIPoC project aiming to build greater equity for Queer, Trans, Intersex Peoples and/or People of Colour and People of Faith.
